We could go check out Guru Road (Dooby Lane) and see how our road work is holding up. We anticipate that potholes will form where we put down DG, and these will need to be filled in. We can also go and check out the Coyote Spring dunes to see whether any motorcycles have gone through our defenses. Other than that, I could use some help winterizing our office, which is that 1920's era building across from the Saloon. I've spoken with the engineer at KUNR, an NPR affiliate-- he was actually involved in the original radio project at the school years ago. Certainly it will be open to the community-- I wonder if I can have people contribute music from their own personal collections, and perhaps be able to do some mobile broadcasting (live from Bev's on New Years Eve, for example). The Friends of Black Rock High Rock is a member organization whose mission is to preserve the character of the Black Rock Desert region, protect it from damage and exploitation, and enhance visitor experiences. We do this through direct service volunteer projects, visitor contact, special events, and other programs.
