  • Speaking of bloodsuckers, and I think I am OT here...this is a Letter to the Editor that I'm pretty sure won't be published here.
If Y'all will gift me 10k I can work on it a bit more...

Message: Whelp. It's that time of Season again.

It's not the Mosquito's as much as the Tick's that are bugging me.

At least the skeeters have the courtesy to whine. Often times, if you are listening, you can here them coming to suck your blood and smack them down.

Nope...what bothers me the most down here in the Ozarks is the ticks.

They seem to come from everywhere. Worse...there is no safe place. I've found them in Church and in bed.

Don't get me wrong. I hate skeeters bout as much as ticks. Blood suckers are bloodsuckers after all.

Nope...I mostly hate the ticks more cause they tend to be more subtle. Crafty.

Let me give you an example.

A skeeter tends to swoop in and suck what it can get away with. Ticks...they tend to crawl slowly up to my (no pun intended as a Sergeant) privates. I'm not sure why they seem to want to go there every Election cycle, but I swear it is true!

Worse...even when you pick them off, you find they left an imbedded head infecting you years later.

    I've seen it!

    Worse, I've lived it.

Some folk say 'Well, just move'.

Move where? Last I checked, this was America, and as a 20 year Vet...seems to me I should be free to live anywhere.

Just not Springfield, Missouri iffn I don't like ticks.

I don't know. Maybe Mark Twain was right to flea here, but I sure don't want to spend a cold summerr in San Francisco.

Maybe, just maybe, we can all exercise our constitutional rights this election season and buy enough guns legally so that the pest problem is abated.

I'll pray for that this Sunday if you will.

You just may not like my Church...
