You weren't hallucinating - me and da boy were watching Leno when she mentioned BM (and yes, completely sober as well). That perked our attention right up, and the last thing she said was "Basically a bunch of naked people on drugs". She also mentioned "big dust clouds", and how there was lots of art and cars decorated as art, lots of people in costumes, and how a lot of people say it changes their lives and get all spiritual about it, but that she didn't really feel that herself, notwithstanding that she said she was there for (only) two days. She also talked about how there was a big wooden man burned at the end for people to "release" all the things they want to leave behind. We were both dismayed that the last image she left the public with was the drug aspect...although I'm glad now that she didn't spend a huge amount of time talking about the event in general.

I dunno, I guess I am paranoid. I don't think I could get seriously wasted while naked. I would worry about getting too much sun or not wanting to have to get back to camp to put my clothes on at sunset. I might be persuaded to get out of them for a little while ;) but I don't think I would be roaming the playa naked and wasted. I really don't think a huge percentage of others do either unless they are sticking pretty close to their camp. Maybe it's just a matter of experiance ... ever since I threw my clothes on that stage at a concert once in Mainz in March I have been pretty careful about removing clothing while totally toasted. It was kinda funny NOW. Had to pick up hitch-hikers and let them drive too ... but that's another thread.

My friend's husband was supposed to be on the crew from Comedy Central...not sure why it didn't happen but I do know that the main reason they wanted to send a crew this year is because of the intended content of the Drive-In Theater. I tell many people that I talk to, especially co-workers, that Burning Man is dusty, hot, rainy, cold and just downright miserable. When I say them....I mean celebrities. US pop culture centers around famous people and rewards them enough. At burningman everyone is a celebrity in my opinion. If bman got "hot" or "cool" with famous people, it would be all over the news more often than now and next thing you know Pdiddy would be out on the playa blaring his souless music and crusing around in some monstrosity that he paid a couple million for.
