hi tribers,

this was my first year every doing an art instillation on the playa and i am looking for any stories, comments and/or pictures in relation to it. i would love them for my own enjoyment and to also pass along to my crew.

the piece was called incardia vere, and was a very large (~20 ft) anatomical red heart with blue veins made out of fiberglass. it was at roughly 2:30 and 1,200 ft beyond the man, and was open for people to go into to and explore. I hope you went in. :-) photos of it on my profile.

it was an amazing experience to give back to the community in that way, and I look forward to hearing any stories you might have.
Please email me directly at: incardiavere (at) gmail (dot) com

thank you.

love and dusty kisses,
~endot

Hi ~endot! That piece was magnificent! I crawled all through its passages top to bottom, and even considered going up through the bars to the tippy top holes (I'm skinny enough to have got through) but decided the creator probably didn't intend for that and abstained ;-) Cool daytime piece, likely a cozy hideout at night. Thanks for bringing it!

you are all welcome, i am glad you enjoyed it!

the main purpose of the heart was as an intention of personal growth, me, opening my heart and welcoming people into it. well, and having people come in. :-)

tiahaar- originally it was intended to be crawled and climbed all the way through. we ran out of time to make the top tubes secure enough. i know of a few skinny people that snuck up it, and i am glad, but very happy it was only 1 person at a time! very happy that you enjoyed it day & night.

m@r+y- yes, the grips did for a brief time amplify the person’s heartbeat into the heart, and it triggered lighting effects. as with many things on the playa, things broke or didn’t work out properly. some nights it lit, some it didn’t. :-( the letting go was an important lesson to have learned.
one fantastic thing that happened as a result of the sound not working was when people would “play” the heart itself, drumming on the sides making the heart truly come to life thanks to the people inside (and outside) of it.

ludo- the hardest working man! you were a fantastic neighbor and i look forward to keeping in touch! you have a beautiful energy.

thank you all for your responses and pictures. i welcome more!

    Hi Endot,

We met Monday night at a burn platform and you told us about your heart. Then we walked back to your camp and got to explore the heart while it was split on two trailers. That was a nice top off, heartful experience to share with you before leaving the next day. Also we saw half of the heart on 80 in Reno just ahead of us, but it went south on 395.

      Shoulda COulda Woulda.
      Bummer.....saw it a lot as I was at 2:30.

Appreciation to all artists who create the interactive love on the playa.

There are a lot of repeated shapes in BRC. One is a red heart. It was cool to have an anatomy heart out there to fit in with those other blinky red hearts.....nice balance!

Thank you for your beautiful art! I didn't get to see it at night, but rode past during the day with my campmates and they all said they had seen it the night before and how wonderful they thought it was. Damn, this was your first installation?

    APPLAUSE, APPLAUSE, APPLAUSE!!!!!!!!!!!!

thank you all for your great words, and for the fantastic stores and pictures that have been shared.
i will respond more when i catch up (i swear it!) but i am truly appreciating hearing from you all!

and yes, this was a first installation, first art for me ever actually. 1 powerful idea, a fantastic right hand bill'der man who figured out most of this on the fly, and dozens and dozens of volunteer helping hands to help build my vision and teach me so many lessons.

i will soon also put up a link of my pictoral summary of the whole process, in case anyone is interested!
