Among other things, I work with a company in central California that distributes DVDs. They're about to trash a TON of old VHS tapes that will never sell. I'm hoping to find them a more suitable home than the dump. Any artists out there that could use them?? Perhaps the plastic cases, or the little spindly components, or the miles of tapey goodness inside? They'll ship them to anyone who will pick up the shipping costs. But they're looking to get rid of them soon, so let me know asap if you're interested...
Thanks!

Re: Repurposing VHS Tapes for Art
Thu, December 20, 2007 - 1:46 PMYou might try the East Bay Depot for Creative Reuse. they sell art supplies and things that can be converted to such to teachers and the general public. www.east-bay-depot.org/
San Francisco has a similer organization, called Scrounger's Resource for Reusable Art Parts (Scrap) www.scrap-sf.org/
And off-topic, but if someone reading this wishes they had something similer nearby, SCRAP has a page on how to start one: www.scrap-sf.org/start.htm -
