I'm on the side of the people that says we ought to burn every RV on Friday Night each year. Sure burning them would release LOTS of toxic fumes...but for just one night...as opposed to outgassing and wasting fuel at 7 MPG for the next twenty years! Burn Larry RV! Burn Larry RV! Burn Larry RV! ...But all joking aside...it would be cool to have at least one major art piece burn each night of the festival out on the Playa. Not 'the Man' each night...just one RANDOM night! and the other nights it would be a different piece. I liked The Waffle, but if too many pieces of the Burning Art are also functional (like the waffle as a disco) then TOO MANY artworks wait until the end to get burned. So what if there's more people there to enjoy it? The truly appreciative are there on Sun-Mon-Tue-Wed night! It would be great karma for the early arrivals who do so much of the setup and pARTicipation to get a chance to see a HUGE art piece burn on Sunday night to OPEN the event! Like a giant balsa-wood wall behind the gate that is torched when the gate officially opens and burns bright and fast...then new arrivals would cross over the ashes for the rest of the week. "We already purchase all our fireworks from China", said Larry Harvey, one of the co-founders of the Burning Man festival. "So it made sense to outsource the Man too."
