Myself and 4 friends built a lounge in the 3:00 keyhole. It was 40 feet tall and had couches and bar (sometimes) on top as well as an LED array on top to serve as a beacon for those next to us. The tower was actually one of the subjects in the popular time lapse video posted in this group ( vimeo.com/6636389 ). If you liked it or hated it or had feedback on how to make it nicer let us know. It was a ton of work for us but if people dug it, we will keep it coming back. We were considering making it wider and a bit taller next year but if you think it is better kept small, then we might just leave it as is. Hope you had a chance to stop by.

Re: Tower at 2:50 and A, (Altitude Lounge), did you visit?
Mon, September 21, 2009 - 6:19 PMHeyo Greg. I was a neighbor - over at Camp Unofficial - so observed and visited your tower. From down below, it looked like a popular destination. From up there - it was a good spot to catch a fine view.
Climbing up, the structure felt secure and solid. There were other people, but it didn't feel crowded - perhaps just one guy on our same level, and some others up higher. I took some pictures of our camp from up there, which was kind of excellent, and not something I've been able to do before. From looking at campmates' photos, I'm pretty sure some of them took advantage of the altitude as well.
Somehow I managed not to notice there was a bar up there, or even to associate the name of your Altitude Lounge with the structure I saw and hung out on. In retrospect, that seems more than a bit dense, but ah well.
The couches were great (and I admired the pulley system I assumed you hauled them up with). Perhaps some additional loungy decor? Obviously something windproof and unlikely to trip someone...Dunno about making it bigger. Maybe wider, but same height? Seemed plenty tall to me. But I'm short. Ha.

Thu, September 24, 2009 - 8:27 PMYou guys were great neighbors. Your tower gave me a chance to challenge my fear of heights as well was just a cool place to hang out. Please consider your contribution very well received and enjoyed.
