i have found that gate prefers their beer unopened. gifting an opened beer seems to be de rigeur at the gate for some reason. beyond that they have never seemed picky to me.

you bring up a great point about temp, since some beers are better at room temp. cold beer is a fine thing, especially in the hot desert, but we can always make that beer cold ourselves so temp is not vital to our enjoyment of your beer.

while we of the gate dept are not terribly picky, we love good beers as much as any other hard working burners. i have noticed that dark beers tend to get consumed before beers like pbr, but in the end, all beers are good beers.

thank you for your concern, and for your beer. the gate staff will be thankful, because there really is nothing quite like a nice fresh beer when you get out of the lanes at the end of a long dusty shift.

just in case you don't like to give out beer, i dunno, maybe beer dun you wrong, we also accept with glee the gift of whiskey.

Don't give your beer to Gate, save it for Greeter's. Cold and unopened and whatever you will be drinking is fine. BTW, last year the cops were checking for open containers and drugs on the way into the City so be aware and hold off until you park.

I would say that the kind of beer one should gift would depend on the time of day and the conditions.

If it is in the middle of the day and it is blazing fucking hot, I would think they might appreciate something light and refreshing (and very, very cold). At night, slip them a good ale. Don't open it. That gatester might have one already open sitting someplace out of the wind. Or maybe they themselves don't drink beer and so they can put it in the shack for one of the others to have.

what the hell? warm beer! This Is America we don't drink no stinkun warm beer! Cold PBR is the gift of choice!
