    That's a tough one...I'm not a Doctor, I just play one online.
I've never had a problem, or heard from others same. It's a relativity benign environment except for the whole choking on Playa dust fine particulate alkali thing. That said...when I was about 10 or so...coming back from Sierra Bible Camp by Lake Almanor, a Family friend died at the age of 10 from an asthma attack.
I just don't know. I do have a 'Mantra'. "I will not live my Life in fear" but that seems...shallow if death ensues.

Yeah, it would help to know their triggers. Naturally someone with a dust allergy needs to stay as far away from our community as possible. Similarly if this is a stress reaction, probably not (body gets Very stressed on the playa) But if their asthma is triggered by exotic particles (smoke, etc) which is quite common, then the playa should be something of a relief.

Here's a page on common triggers

Actually the playa is a great place for a dust allergy. It's not the dust that people (like me) are allergic to, it's the dust mites (which are critters), which don't exist on the playa because it's too dry. I have a pretty bad dust allergies and asthma - caused by the allergies and the playa is usually a great place for me, provided I wear a mask to keep the large particles out - which are definitely irritants.

Look, I don't aim to be a wet blanket here, but inviting snark tends to dilute the whole snarky response thing.

It's no fun to make fun of someone who thinks it's funny.

Besides, Asthma isn't really a viable candidate for ridicule.

There just isn't anything funny about choking to death on playa dust.

If, however, your friend needed help with his case of Flaming Butt Vomit, or Stinky Chicken head, oh Boy, I could help you.

I could even get some mileage out of a dose of Drippy Twig.

Unfortunately, as long as you insist on discussing an ailment with no real humor value, I am sorry, but I cannot help you with your quest for Snark.

The best answer would be for your friend to go to a fucking doctor and not leave such questions to a Parliament of Monkeys.

Because... you know, the one thing that monkeys do well is throwing shit.

You may speak for monkeys, if you wish.

I, on the other hand, am the local spokesman for the Great Apes. My tail is on the inside, not flopping about like some furry weenie sticking out of your butt.

And, as aforementioned spokesmammal I would be remiss, if I did not point out that Apes do not "throw shit".

We fling poo. Always have, always will. I come from a long line of poo flingers, and we are very proud of our poo flinging heritage.

So please, let's get our poo together on this.

      Thank you.

"would be for your friend to go to a fucking doctor "

        Damn... some people can't read.

I said my friend has asthma not sexual impotence.

That reminds me, a guy keeps getting his wife pregnant. He goes to the doctor who says- "just read the instructions on the condom box".

After several kids, the guy asks the Doctor to make a house visit (yea this joke is about 50 years old) to see what he is doing wrong.

The doctor walks into the guys house and sees a piano with hundreds of condoms all over it.

"What the hell is this?" the doctor asks?

"Well" replied the patient. "I did what you said, I read the instructions on the condom box. It said to put it on your organ, we didn't have an organ so we used our piano".

That reminds me of the one about the 10 inch pianist that grew 2 inches and became a foot

            Fuck the Fucking doctor.

I say go with the Parliament of monkeys.

It's cheaper, and you will probably end up with the same advice.

Remember: If you want a completely different opinion, just wait until the next doctor enters the room.

That reminds me of this guy who wanted to marry this pretty lady.

Her father says "NO- not unless he buys you a $50,000 bracelet"

After hearing the father's demands he tells his girlfriend... "I will do it because I love you".

She shows her father the expensive bracelet and her father still doesn't want her to marry the guy so he says "NO- he has to buy you a multimillion dollar home.

After hearing the father's demands he tells his girlfriend... "I will do it because I love you".

She shows her father the deed for the expensive home and her father still doesn't want her to marry the guy so he says "NO- I have one last request and if he comes through, he can marry you"

The daughter is shocked, but says to her boy friend "My father said that I can't marry you unless you have a 21" penis"

After hearing the father's demands he tells his girlfriend... "That's a tough one, but I will do it because I love you. I know a guy who will be able to cut 2" off".

That reminds me.....Lorena Bobbitt is considering applying for the host position on the Food TV program 'Chopped'.

I dood it because it needed to be said.
