I always wanted to see Charred Heston Camp

All things Charlton Heston.

- A Burning Bush... giant mannequin legs sprouting from the playa, fishnets, red hooker heels. In the center... a burning bush where a Bush ought to be.

- Some kind of 'homage' to the NRA.

- Camp Quote: "Take your stinking paws off me, you damned dirty ape!" And camp members dressed as apes, taking humans hostage.

- Camp Food: Soylent Green

- Camp Art Car: A chariot, what else?

- Camp Effigy: Charlton, of course. Burn him, of course.

The man has given us so much great material. Seems a shame not to char him.

We were gonna build a bunch of catapults out of PVC for launching rubber chickens into unsuspecting camps. The cost of bulk chickens is surprisingly inexpensive, and there are a myriad of great catapult designs available online.

I'd still love to do it- but it isn't on the priority list. At the very least, I would enjoy seeing a rubber chicken mysteriously fall into my camp from the sky.

Ah, always some of my favorite memories after every burn I've been to. All the ideas blurted out by campmates, especially the first timers, of all the things they're going to to next year which actually never get done next year or ever for that matter. I've done it too.

Millions of ideas for next year. Trillions in fact.

"Ya know what would be really cool to do next year? I'm gonna bring a donkey, a surfboard, a rubber chicken and a one of those little rubber fake vomit thingys and I'm gonna mount the donkey on the surfboard and stick the rubber chicken up it's ass and..."

Not surprisingly, duct tape gets mentioned quite often.

I blame it on all the ganja and the nudity.

Some sort of theme camp solar/wind powered amusement park , called something like "Gr8 America Dreamland", "Six Phlags", or "Playaworld"

It's on sale and ready to roll up Interstate 5 and I-80 to Reno.

My first year I had an idea where everyone brought one piece of a jungle jim. Some brought a 4 foot section of 2" steel pipe and others brought the six, five, four or three way connector (I'd gound a website for them).

Unfortunately the idea required the cooperation of hundreds of American style individuals and I never did consider exactly who took the resulting enormous jungle jim off the playa.

Perhaps everyone who brought a part took it home afterward for re-erection next year?

I just wanted to play on a big jungle jim, I guess.

Lawrence of Arabia camp was bandied about one year.

- Critical Larrys. A bike parade of 1000 stetsons, khakis, sunglasses and
half smokes.

- The Kervorkian Kafe (Jack's Place) Drinks served in pipettes,
the DJ plays endess sets of the band Youth in Asia.

- Island of misfit Daleks. Micro Dalek. Pink Daleks. Santa Dalek.
Customer service Dalek. Orkin Dalek (sic).

- Sodom and Gamera. Japanese monster movie fetishists.

An art car that looks like a submarine! :)

Complete with rising water as it "submerges" that is blue "transparent" fabric with fishes and coral painted on it.

Or some other sort of nonsense like that!

Also, a radio controlled blimp that sent a video image live to a network of screens around the playa. The wind might be too strong for that, but it would be cool! Make it look like a real zeppelin!
