There is no sales tax on services. (Not yet anyway) The exceptions being food does not have sales tax unless it is warm. Think immeadiate consumption, restaurant etc. The exception for service is rental items. If you rent a tool or a Uhaul truck you will pay sales tax. There are other exceptions and loop holes, but Burning Man is not selling a product or renting you anything. They are essentially offering a service.
