It was round, brownish in color, and had a picture of some dead white guy on it. Abe Lincoln I think. Anyway, if you happened to find it, could you please mail it to me via USPost?

Thanks!

Might be wrong (doubt it, though), but 'rumor' has it the proceeds from Cafe an' Ice go to the Communities of Gerlach and surroundin' area (I work at the Cafe as a carpenter). Still a giftin' economy, only you ain't gettin' the gift, yer helpin' to give it...so bitch less, an' pat yerself on the back...unless you didn't actually help pay fer the present.

...oh, 'bout the penny: Was it travelin' alone, or did it have company? It might have come home to my tent with a nickel after a wild night of partyin'. I saw in early one morn, but later in the week, it was gone again...so was my nickel...they might've eloped...now I'll never know.

My nickel from up north got into the Canadian Beaver Eating contest without me. It was eaten by one of those quarters with a bison on it.
          • for a nickel I will . . .

Oh no . . . more whining about coffee and ice. I for one cannot do without the ice and I'm not about to bring a 5K+ generator and refrigerator just so that I can avoid buying ice. I didn't buy coffee this year, but I have in years passed and have zero problems with it.

Maybe for you it's not a gift economy.

            . . . for "me" it is.

Stick that one in your pipe and smoke it.

Oh damn. I found that penny, but there was a girl in our camp; who had a penny just like it that her grandpa gave her when she turned five they used to play with it while her grandpa played the guitar and they would make up penny songs they would later whistle as they skipped stones on the way to the fishing hole and she just lost it the week before and her grandpa died the same day and when she saw the penny I held in my hand she burst in to tears so I gave it to her.

              Hope that was okay.

Somehow I feel a gift economy does not involve one person giving money to another in exchange for something ... like coffee.

There have been solutions suggested that the org could do to rectify this, but none have been tried... at all.

You should be locked up. Do you have no respect for other peoples safety? A child could of picked it up and tried to eat it. They could of choked and died you bastard!!! You have no respect for this community(drink!) and should spend years in prison for your selfish act.

This penny. This penny was on The Man when he was 1st burnt down. He was torched and brought back to the ranch. He knew if the hippies ever saw the penny that it'd be confiscated; taken away. The way The Man looked at it, this penny was your birthright. He'd be damned if any hippies were gonna put their greasy henna dyed hands on your birthright. So he hid it in the one place he knew he could hide something. His ass.
