I don't think NBC will do much to Tribe.net, at least not initially. If they buy Tribe it will be for their software, which is actually quite brilliant by social networking standards. Their stated goal is to embrace the left-leaning demographic and expand upon it. Networks don't care if online properties lose money, either. They want to integrate the Tribe software with iVillage, which might result in the greatest chance of Tribe.net being left the fuck alone. We can hope anyway. Even if Tribe disappears someone will carete something useful in it's stead. More useful than the current alternatives, at any rate.
